Great coffee in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. My wife and I always stop in when walking around Hopewell. This place is a local institution.
We have been to Boro Bean in Hopewell a few times. They have delicious coffee and make an awesome cafe mocha. I would have given 5 stars but last time there we both agreed the place needed a good cleaning from floor to ceiling.
Great casual dining with wide variety of sandwich choices. Good coffee. Cosy. Always busy. Order at the counter, wait staff will deliver to your table. Child friendly: on the back porch are wooden toys to play with. Bus your table when leaving speeds table turnovers. Inside and outside seating with shade.
This place is definitely haunted
5 stars for the coffee, but I have my reservations about the cleanliness. ... There were three large bags of sugar sitting on the back porch where patrons with children were congregating.... The coffee was great so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and give them another shot.
Great food, great staff and fast service
Friendliest little place. Great coffee. Good muffins.
Great little local coffee shop, awesome group working there and the drinks and food are awesome!
Stopped in during a bike ride and had the best egg and cheese sandwich in ages accompanied by an excellent Sumatra roast coffee. All with proper social distancing!
Good place to connect and grab a cup. Good selection of muffins and other breakfast items.
A very cozy place with great food and friendly service.
Always fresh, nice selection of snacks, all the way to full meals , small world Cafe coffee, my kids love quesadillas, and it opens at 6:30 am so stopping by before getting on commuter train is a wonderfully way of starting the day, as well as staying open till letter so after a hike in Sourlands stopping by to recover in quiet historic downtown never gets old ...
Ok place for a small town but not too friendly and the coffee is not that great. But the charm of the old house saves it. The capuccino tasted ok but nothing special. They don't carry almond milk...
Great coffee, quaint atmosphere, and delicious small food (sandwiches, muffins, etc.). My wife and I drive past multiple coffee shops every Friday to go here. Mixture of young and older crowd.
The avocado toast was very good. However, the coffee was disgusting and I could not drink it. I asked for a refund and was told the coffee was advertised as being bitter and that I could not receive my money back. I tried the other coffee blend, which was also disgusting, and walked off without any sympathy from any of the employees. Beware: they are not nice at all!
Great food!! I don't live too close to the area but I make the drive out for the great food, coffee, and ambiance.
One of my favorite stops
A great local coffee shop. They use coffee from small world coffee in Princeton and hand craft their drinks with care. The staff is friendly, attentive and always welcoming. There is seating available to enjoy a quick breakfast or a tasty lunch. The lunch menu isn't extensive but has enough options. The baked goods are look delectable and taste delicious. If you live near by, this should be one of your local staple haunts. If you are just passing through, it's definitely worth a stop.
Really good caramel latte, bagels are exceptional.
Good coffee and pastries. Nice atmosphere.
Great coffee shop , good food ( wood oven baked bagels for instance)
Very good coffee ☕️ and meal 🥘👍👍👍😋
Great coffee! Muffins are delicious. Breakfast/lunch both done really well. Service is great and personal. Bagels are yummy as well. Best of all? Apple Pay!! When I’m out without my wallet I can use my Apple pay and that just makes me happy. Most don’t know how it works... but just tell them it will work and don’t give up. Ha! Enjoy.
Cozy place that feels like home. Coffee is always strong and pairs perfectly with the great baked goods. All their food is incredible.
Just a great homey place with owners who care and who make it a point to know their customers. Everything is homemade from muffins to soup stock. Great chai along with a satisfying breakfast is one of my favorites. Johnny and Ellen Abernathy really put their heart and soul into this place and it shows because it's always packed.
Really nice setting and staff very nice. My wife and I have been doing morning coffee dates here on the weekend.
Great breakfast. Fresh muffins and fresh squeezed orange juice.
Amazing place! The workers are so friendly and nice! And the aesthetic is on point!
I went there once for breakfast. Staff are very nice and friendly. Food is fresh and delicious. We loved our meal and strongly recommend it
Simple but wonderful home-made soups and sandwiches. Very friendly staff and a very homey atmosphere...more like going to a friend's house than a restaurant. It can get a bit crowded at lunch but that just adds to the opportunity to meet new friends.
Lovely homey atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food. But the coffee is awful — burnt and bitter-tasting. (This is not third wave!) So I order tea :)
Perfect little spot for a quick coffee and breakfast. Staff is always kind and helpful.
The quiet work space on a weekday. Decent selection of food and drinks
The soups are always spot on. Bread is delectable. Wonderful that they serve coffee and tea in lovely white mugs. Good for kids too. Small play area in back of shop. Porch is dog friendly. Highly recommend!
Great sandwich and outdoor eating area!
Boro bean is a nice little shop with some high quality breakfast and lunch items. Their breakfast sandwich I had was ohenomenal, and I love that they opt with the sharp taste of white cheddar as standard on their sandwiches. My cappuccino was great and I enjoyed the Stellar service there. Employees seemed generally happy and it showed in their great service. The only thing I'd recommend would be to simplify the menu. It's on many different boards and some items are confusing. For example, the breakfast sandwich on a croissant or on a roll was 2$ in difference, but was written a bit odd. I think simplifying the menu so that items are easier to be found and explained would be beneficial. Other than this don't change a thing, this place is great!
Here right now for lunch. Had the chicken panini and the chicken gumbo soup. Both items delicious. The soup was absolutely delicious and highly recommended. Good coffee and hot chocolate. I've been here for breakfast before and everything is sooo good as well. The muffins are big and yummy!
A little sketchy from the outside, but the inside was warm and welcoming. The hot chocolate was the perfect temperature. Would recommend.
Wonderful beverages and food in a lovely setting. Don't let this hidden gem pass you by!
Nice vibe, good coffee and fresh baked goods. Awesome muffins right out of the oven. Cool local place reminded me of Woodstock.
This is a really nice neighborhood place. Coffee is very good and the people are friendly. The muffins are quite sweet by New York standards, but many people like that.
A really cute place to go for coffee or breakfast in downtown Hopewell. It’s right next to the Hopewell Public Library and often girl scouts sell their cookies on the porch. They have a selection of wraps, pastries, and coffees/tea. A bit on the pricier side but overall pretty good.
Small is beautiful. I love all their knick knacks. Very friendly and warm atmosphere.
I want to start by stating the following fact: I was not asking for something not on the menu. Boro Bean receives 2 stats from me due to their customer service and lack of accommodation. This has happened twice now, and quite frankly I am very annoyed - the first time, I simply asked for an extra serving of chicken salad on the side. They said no. Today, my second time I asked for just chicken salad. Again, no. So I end up having to pay $8.75 for a salad with chicken salad on top of it.WHY? I don't want the bowl of mixed lettuce or the tomato slices - I just wanted the chicken salad. Why was Boro Bean unable to accommodate my request? It would have been easier and cheaper for them to hand me a bowl of chicken salad as I wanted, rather than make their entire bowl of lettuce and half a tomato. The only reason I didn't give one star for this lack of accommodation and good customer service, is because the food is good. Seating is cramped, the decor is lacking, but the food is good.
Unfriendly staff and lackluster coffee... would not recommend.
TL;DR - perfect for doing work, grabbing brunch, meeting friends. Amazing waffles and muffins! Boro bean has a perfect small town vibe coupled with friendly staff and a beautiful space. They offer free wifi, making it a great place to do some work. They have lots of outdoor seating as well, along with games and coloring books for kids. Their waffles are incredible especially their seasonal pumpkin waffles. This is a great place to meet up with friends are just have some tea and read a good book.
When it comes to muffins you can't beat Boro Bean. They also have great soups and I really like the avocado toast.
Great food, great atmosphere, awesome location!
Absolutely the best wings around! I told the owner we were going to try them and if they were good I would write a review online. They are FRESH and the Buffalo sauce is perfect. If you haven't tried them, it's a must! They don't serve them every day so call ahead, and get there early, they sell out fast! Great job Boro Bean, we'll be back!
Met a friend here for brunch on a Saturday around noon. Busy as expected but not crowded. Get their apple muffins!Delicious iced coffee with sandwiches and light fare that is sure to please everyone in your brood! Also, located on a really nice area. Go for a walk with your coffee. It wont disappoint!
